Senator Gene Yaw (Chairman)

Senator Gene YawSenator Yaw was elected to the state Senate in 2008 to represent the 23rd Senatorial District, which includes Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan, and Union counties and portions of Susquehanna County. Prior to serving in the Senate, Sen. Yaw served as Lycoming County solicitor for 17 years. He also served as general counsel to the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Presently, Sen. Yaw serves as chairman of the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and vice chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. He also is a member of the Appropriations, Banking and Insurance, Judiciary, and Law and Justice committees. Sen. Yaw is a member of the Lycoming, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and the Board of Directors of the Lycoming Law Association Foundation. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania College of Technology. He attended Bucknell University, and earned degrees from Lycoming College and the American University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
