Senator Gene Yaw (Chairman)

Senator Yaw was elected to the state Senate in 2008 to represent the 23rd Senatorial District, which includes Bradford, Lycoming, Sullivan and portions of Susquehanna and Union counties.

Prior to serving in the Senate, Sen. Yaw served as Lycoming County solicitor for 17 years. He also served as general counsel to the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Presently, Sen. Yaw serves as chairman of the Urban Affairs and Housing Committee. He also is a member of the Environmental Resources and Energy, Law and Justice, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Rules, Labor and Industry, and Executive Nominations and Majority Policy committees.

Sen. Yaw is a member of the Lycoming Law Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the Board of Directors of the Lycoming Law Association Foundation, Inc., and the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

He attended Bucknell University, and earned degrees from Lycoming College and the American University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
